The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) regulates national banks and federal savings associations, as well as supervises federal branches and agencies of foreign banks. The Surface Transportation Board (STB) is the successor agency to the Interstate Commerce Commission. Congress has charged the STB with resolving railroad rate and service disputes. The STB also reviews proposed mergers of railroads. We conduct searches for railcar and other liens and can obtain documents from the STB including, but not limited to: Decisions and notices, such as those concerning a license to construct, acquire, operate over or abandon a rail line; filings submitted by parties in STB cases; correspondence about environmental matters; and equipment liens involving rail or water carriers.
